Quality Sounds record has released the much-anticipated album ” Afro thug” of their protégé, Sasco Osayamen Hope William, professionally known by his stage name as Sasco Breez. A multiple award-winning indigenous rapper, prolific songwriter, singer, producer, DJ, and Dance Hall Afro Beatz artiste.
The much-awaited album was fueled by his experience while serving a jail term in prison. His lamentations and prayers to return home which is the daily desire by millions of detainees worldwide, gave birth to what has become the most talked about songs today.
Though the album also has some other beautiful lyrics like “Letter to My Mum,” the instruments were both analog input and electronics played by popular (Aymix Beats in Spain) Mix and mastered by (Nelson P.O.J) and vocal recorded by (Emmy Jose Music Production LLC) in Italy.
SascoBreez’sz father and mother are indigenous to Edo State. He was born on August 3, 199,5 to a family of 5 boys. He was raised by a single mother called Osasuyi Osayamen with his four brothers. Sasco grew up in (Edo State Nigerian in Ikpoba Hill Aduwawa Benin City) Adowawa is a ghetto.
While growing up, he watched some of his friends die from gunshots, gang violence,e and gun violence. Some of his friends both girls and boys from the age of 14 to 16 years old at that time of their age, were doing hard drugs and ended up becoming drug addicts. While some of his friends were imprisoned in juvenile centers.
His aim at that time was how to get himself out of the Ghetto (trenches) He said, “Seeing my mother suffering and raising five boys wasn’t easy for her, I had to do everything in my power to sustain my family”. At the age of 17, he decided that his dreams were either to become a footballer, or a goalkeeper, or he would become a musician. He played football in a local football club as a goalie. While he was playing, he had an injury on his hand, which ended his passion for football.
He also lost his dad at the age of 16, which made life a lot more difficult for him and the rest of his family.
After his death, he started working in a car wash. He washed cars just to survive and put food on the table for his family. He also revealed an incident that occurred when someone came to wash his car, he left the car with him and he never knew that there was money inside.
‘There was a boy who we worked together at the car wash, he stole money from the car after the owner of the car came to take his car, and about 10 minutes later, he returned to complain that the money inside his car had been stolen. He said I left N500,000 inside my car, which is now nowhere to be found. He later involved the police. After the investigation, they accused me of stealing the money, but as God would have it, they found out that I wasn’t guilty but my coworker at the car wash. So, the man apologized, then said, you’re just an innocent boy, he later gave me $5000 as a gift for my innocence, that was the beginning of a new life for me, “he explained.
That was when he decided that he would never work in the Carwash again but chase his dream of becoming one of the most respected musicians in Nigeria.
Sasco Breez continued to make music, pushing his grind even harder till he got into a European college. While in Europe, the young artiste lost his way a bit, getting involved in different nefarious activities which caused him to drop out of college. He started to compose music with what he had been going through in life and what had been happening within his neighborhood and the community he was living. And that gave birth to his album ‘Afro Thug’ which is now making massive waves globally.
