AFCON 2025 QUALIFIERS: RWANDA BEATS SUPER EAGLES 2-1 IN UYO

Rwandan national football team, the Amavubi, on Monday evening handed a 2-1 defeat to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their last qualifying match for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The match played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, saw the Super Eagles scoring first early in the second half through Samuel Chukwueze.

Nigeria, had already qualified f or the tournament which will hold in Morocco after last weekend’s one-all draw against hosts Benin Republic.

Although the Rwandans beat the Super Eagles,it was just for prestige as the team will not be at the AFCON. Benin Republic who finished second best in the group, will join the Super Eagles in Morocco.
