PSC DISMISSES FAKE RECRUITMENT SHORTLIST CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a strong warning to applicants and the general public regarding a fraudulent list making rounds on social media. The fake document falsely claims to be an official shortlist of candidates for medical examination in the ongoing Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise.

In a press statement released on Monday, June 1, 2026, and signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the Commission categorically stated that no such shortlist has been released.

According to the PSC, the evaluation of the written examination is still in its final stage, and successful candidates will be notified of the next phase through proper channels in the coming days.

The Commission emphasized that invitations for medical examination will be communicated exclusively via official means, including email, SMS, the recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, and other verified PSC communication platforms. It urged applicants to disregard any information not received through these authorized sources.

The PSC further advised the public to remain vigilant against fraudsters and fake news exploiting the recruitment process. It reiterated its long-standing commitment to a transparent, merit-based recruitment system, stressing that the quality of personnel is critical to the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commission also reminded all applicants that the entire recruitment exercise remains completely free at every stage, with no payments required for any process. Applicants were encouraged to rely solely on official updates to avoid falling victim to scams.
