CSR REPORTERS OPENS ENTRIES FOR SISA 2026, LAUNCHES SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT AND NIGERIA CSR IMPACT RANKING

CSR REPORTERS, Africa’s leading independent Corporate Responsibility and sustainability news and intelligence platform, has officially opened entries for the 2026 Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA 2026), while unveiling two major initiatives aimed at strengthening accountability and sustainability standards across Nigeria and Africa: The Sustainability Summit and the Nigeria CSR Impact Ranking 2026.

Scheduled to hold in November 2026 in Lagos, SISA 2026 marks a significant evolution of the platform from a recognition programme into a broader accountability ecosystem focused on measuring, benchmarking, and advancing responsible business practice.

This year’s programme comes under the theme “From Impact to Accountability: Defining Credible Sustainability in Africa” and will be built around three pillars: Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA), Sustainability Summit, and Nigeria CSR Impact Ranking.

A statement signed by Eche Munonye, President/CEO of CSR REPORTERS, said the expanded platform responds to growing demands from investors, regulators, communities, consumers, and employees for measurable evidence of sustainability performance rather than declarations of intent.

“As expectations around sustainability continue to evolve, organisations can no longer rely solely on narratives. Stakeholders increasingly want proof, measurable outcomes, transparent reporting, and independent verification. SISA 2026 has been designed to help advance that conversation,” the statement said.

A key addition to this year’s programme is the Sustainability Summit, a high-level gathering of business leaders, policymakers, regulators, investors, development partners, academics, civil society organisations, and sustainability practitioners.

The Summit will examine critical issues shaping the future of responsible business in Africa, including ESG disclosure, impact measurement, greenwashing, accountability frameworks, independent verification, and sustainability governance.
Another major highlight is the launch of the Nigeria CSR Impact Ranking 2026, an independent benchmarking framework developed by CSR REPORTERS to assess the quality, credibility, transparency, and measurable impact of corporate responsibility and sustainability programmes.

Unlike traditional rankings that focus largely on expenditure or publicity, the CSR Impact Ranking evaluates organisations across five dimensions: Impact, Strategy, Measurement, Sustainability & Scale, and Transparency.

Numerous organisations across sectors including financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, and consumer goods have already submitted documentation relating to their CSR, ESG, sustainability, and social investment programmes for independent assessment and verification towards the ranking.

“The response has been encouraging. More organisations are recognising that accountability is becoming a competitive advantage. The future of sustainability leadership will be defined not only by what organisations do, but by what they can credibly demonstrate,” the statement further said.

Each year, SISA attracts more than 350 senior leaders and decision-makers from across the corporate responsibility, sustainability, governance, development, and public policy ecosystem. Participants include multinational corporations, indigenous businesses, financial institutions, government agencies, development organisations, regulators, ESG practitioners, consulting firms, and civil society organisations.

Over the years, the platform has recognised organisations demonstrating measurable commitment to sustainability and social impact, including Rite Foods Limited, BUA Group, Dangote Cement Plc, Seplat Energy Plc, Aradel Holdings Plc, TotalEnergies EP Nigeria, IHS Towers, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Nestlé Nigeria Plc, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, Lotus Bank, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Lagos Free Zone, and others.

The statement noted that recognition at SISA is earned through a structured, evidence-based assessment process designed to prioritise measurable impact over visibility.

As preparations for SISA 2026 gather momentum, CSR REPORTERS is inviting corporations, development agencies, financial institutions, foundations, consulting firms, industry associations, and other stakeholders to partner as sponsors and strategic supporters.

Sponsors will have the opportunity to engage a highly influential audience of business leaders, policymakers, investors, sustainability professionals, and development practitioners while supporting stronger accountability and responsible business standards across Africa.

Entries for SISA 2026 are now open and will close on July 31, 2026. Nominations and entries can be submitted at the CSR REPORTERS website.
