OGUN 2027: APC PICKS KUDIRAT ADEGUNWA-BALOGUN AS DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has unveiled renowned finance professional and business executive, Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, as its deputy governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Adegunwa-Balogun, 51, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, in the forthcoming election.

She was presented to party stakeholders by Governor Dapo Abiodun on Sunday during the APC strategic caucus meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Governor Abiodun said the choice of Adegunwa-Balogun followed wide consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the state.

A statement by Emmanuel Ojo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, described the new deputy governorship candidate as a distinguished finance expert and business leader with over three decades of experience spanning corporate governance, manufacturing, financial management, business transformation, and strategic leadership.

Adegunwa-Balogun holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Bayes Business School, London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos.

She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom. She has participated in executive leadership programmes at globally recognised institutions, including Harvard Business School and the Wharton School.

Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Finance and Information Technology at Rite Foods Limited, Adegunwa-Balogun has been credited with playing a significant role in the growth and transformation of one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous manufacturing companies.

The APC described her as a leader with a strong commitment to women empowerment, youth development, entrepreneurship, and institutional excellence.

The party said her wealth of experience in corporate leadership, financial management, and governance would strengthen its vision for inclusive development, economic growth, and prosperity for the people of Ogun State.
