PARAKOU READY TO HOST TWO FESTIVALS, TWO COUNTRIES, ONE COMMON VISION

Just a few weeks before the official opening of the 4th Edition of the Asha Yoruba Festival of Benin and the African Indigenous Language Film Festival (AILFF) of Nigeria, the preparatory mission led by the Director General of the Asha Yoruba Festival of Benin, Atchadé Adéyèmi, alongside his Nigerian partner, Mr. Stéphane Osezua Oduma, has successfully concluded.

The mission resulted in the finalization of several strategic partnership agreements, demonstrating the strong commitment of local stakeholders to this major international cultural event.

The University of Parakou has officially confirmed its support for the festival, reaffirming its commitment to promoting African languages, cultures, academic excellence, and cinema.

Regarding hospitality, Hôtel Métropole Parakou is fully prepared to accommodate festival guests, delegates, and participants arriving from different countries. Meanwhile, Hôtel La Princesse will host the official press conferences, professional meetings, and other institutional activities scheduled during the festival.

Various university associations also pledged their support and active participation, further strengthening the collaborative spirit surrounding the event.

Today, one conclusion is clear: Parakou is ready. The city is preparing to welcome a unique cultural celebration dedicated to African unity, the promotion of indigenous languages, and intercultural cooperation.

Two Festivals. Two Countries. One Common Vision: celebrating Africa’s cultural identity while strengthening cooperation between Benin and Nigeria.

The organizing committee extends its heartfelt appreciation to all government authorities, institutions, partners, hotel management teams, university associations, and every individual who welcomed the delegation with warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm throughout this preparatory mission.

Finally, a special invitation is extended to the remaining sponsors and partners who have not yet joined this remarkable initiative. There is still time to become part of one of West Africa’s most significant cultural events, scheduled to take place from 20 to 25 July 2026 in Parakou, Benin.

The stage is set. Parakou is ready to welcome Africa and the world!
