UGOBUGO TO JOIN FAMILY, ASSOCIATES IN FINAL FAREWELL TO FATHER-IN-LAW

Hon. (Chief) Uchenna Ezechinyelu, popularly known as Dunu Ugobugo Ichida and a prominent figure in Nigeria’s power systems and green energy sector, will on Saturday, July 25, 2026, join family members and well-wishers to bid a final farewell to his father-in-law, the late Chief Edwin Ubaka.

In keeping with the cherished Igbo tradition of ‘akwa ogo‘—a condolence visit and show of solidarity to one’s in-laws during bereavement—Chief Ezechinyelu is expected to lead a delegation of friends, business associates and associates to the funeral ceremony in Mgbudu Village, Ichida, Anambra State.

The late Chief Edwin Ubaka, fondly known as Ezeani Odenigbo, was a respected businessman and the Chief Executive Officer of Eddy Bros Nigeria Ltd. He passed away at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of entrepreneurship, industry and service.

Funeral activities will commence with a requiem Mass at St. Rita Catholic Church, Mgbudu, Ichida, after which the late business mogul will be laid to rest at his country home in Mgbudu Village on Saturday, July 25.

The funeral is expected to attract family members, traditional leaders, business associates and dignitaries from different parts of the country, who will gather to honour the memory of Chief Ubaka and celebrate a life of remarkable achievements and enduring impact.
