NIGERIA’S JOHN OBOT SETS NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR READ-ALOUD MARATHON

Akwa Ibom State-born, John Obot has set a new 145 hours Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest marathon read-aloud event. Obot set the record Monday night at Cityview Hall, Watbridge Hotels & Suites in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. On Sunday, Obot equaled the 124-hour mark set by India’s Rysbai Isakov, but still went on to target 145 hours. John Obot, a school teacher, started reading on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, by 1 pm. The reading marathon was supported by Uyo Book Club.
