THE INTRIGUING LOVE STORY OF CHIEF AND NONO OKOYE WHO WILL BE BURIED SAME DAY IN NNEWI

Two love birds of the love song, they were. And they sang in unison, melodiously together till the end, each not ready to stay without hearing the other’s voice!

For the late Nono Eucharia Nwoye Okoye (73) and the king of her heart, the late Aaron Anajekwu Okoye(84), it was a pleasantly twisting cyclone of love, sealed in heaven and delivered on earth.

Theirs beautifully underscores Winnie Pooh’s epic love eulogy: “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever”.

No wonder the couple departed this world almost at the same time and will be buried together the same day. Such is the scintillating companionship they shared- from matrimony to the grave.

According to the Okoye family of Umudim village, Ekwulu Mili in Nnewi south local area of Anambra State, they will spare nothing to accord this special couple a befitting farewell for their parents, they inform, lived an impactful and salutary life.

To the Okoyes, the funeral of their parents will be a celebration of lives well lived and love beautifully shared.

A programme of events released by the family indicates that the rites of passage for Nono and Chief Okoye will commence on Tuesday, August 31st 2021 with a Christian wake keep in their compound.

On Wednesday, September Ist, 2021, there will be a Requiem Mass in their honour at the Okoye compound, Umudim, Ekwulu Mili, followed by an interment at the same venue.

Condolence visits by in-laws, well-wishers, friends, associates and sympathisers will take place on 2nd and 3rd September respectively while a Thanksgiving Mass comes up on Sunday, 5th September 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Umudim.

The Okoye family wishes to remind all guests gracing the funeral of their patriarch and matriarch that Covid-19 protocols will be strictly enforced.

The departed lovebirds, are survived by numerous children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including an astute business mogul, Chukwuemeka Okoye.
