Napoli FC striker and Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen on Saturday night won two awards at the 10th edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards.
Osimhen emerged biggest individual winner with two awards – Striker of the Year and King of the Pitch.
The event which saw Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala clinching the Queen of the Pitch award, also had Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu winning the Football Friendly Governor of the year award. Sanwo-Olu won again when his Lagos State bagged the State with the Best Grassroots Football Development Programme 2023 award.
Enyimba FC was declared Team of the year 2023, while it’s goaltender, Ojo Olorunleke grabbed the Goalkeeper of the year award.
Also honoured on the night, were IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police who pioneered the introduction of football as an event in the finals of the 14th BIPOGA in Ibadan in February 2024. Also honoured were John Momoh, Chairman and CEO of Channels for the Channels Kids Cup initiative and Ibrahim Gusua, the NFF President.
The event, organised by Lenders Consult International led by Mr. Shina Phillips in partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, held at the prestigious Ibom Meridien Hotel and Resorts in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
